Lennie
"Walked heavily"
it shows he is quite heavy and big, and is a heavy footer. However this could also mean he has the mind of a child, he might not really
want to walk anywhere so he is dragging his feet. "Snorting into the water like
a horse" could show that he likes to act like an animal as he has a mind of a child. Lennie has a slow way of thinking and needs to have support.
George:George is described to have
"restless eyes" which suggests he is tired of looking after Lennie, it may also show he has been working hard. He is "small and quick". He is also is "dressed in denim'" which
suggests that he works on the ranch. He moves around to get work at the ranches
but cannot seem to get a job as he is always having to look after Lennie.
Slim
It says he "moved with a majesty" which suggests he has confidence.
Which means everybody will respect him. To back this up it also says "walks like
royalty" which shows he is the leader. For his clothing it says he has a "denim jacket" which shows he is one of the
workers. It also shows he is "not of knowing, but of thought" people listen to him which means they
must trust him.
Candy:
Candy is a ranch worker, he mops the floors instead of working in the fields. His job is
other wise known as a "swamper". He is
described to have 'a big push broom in his left hand'. Which shows he does mop the floors. He owns a old smelly
dog. He is a "tall" old man, with "stooped shouldered" which shows he is old and worn out.
Curly
In the book it describes him as a "Little guy"
which shows he is small. "Scrappy" candy isalways up for fights and because he is the bosses son he goes for taller men as he knows they wont do anything back to him. It says "pick on
somebody his own size" in the book so if he gets beaten up by a bigger man they can say that however if he wins he will look good because they are taller than him.
Curley's wife
In the book it gives many oppinions of Curleys wife "Standing in a way to show off her assets" this shows she is a flirt. "Trying to
present herself to the boys" this could mean they could be distracted for her and lead too more things."Inappropriate clothes for a ranch" this shows she is attenion seeking from the rest of the men on the ranch. Also shows that she is trying to impress others.
